Story The story told in Monkey King: Hero Is Back The Game is based on the story of the movie original. The main character is, therefore, the title character, Monkey King, who was imprisoned by the gods in an ice cage, where he spent five hundred long years. The hero is freed by a little boy who escaped into the mountains from the monsters attacking his hometown. Since then, the legendary warrior has no choice but to thank the child for saving him and to protect the settlement from aggressive creatures. It is worth noting that the developers enriched the story told in the film with completely new threads. The whole thing is inspired by Journey to the West, a classic Chinese novel by Wu Cheng. Mechanics In Monkey King: Hero Is Back The Game we control both Monkey King and Jiang Liu'er, known from the cinematic original.
