Reset Earth is a 2D platformer with puzzle game elements, whose plot refers to the widely understood climate crisis. The game is a part of a larger educational platform of the same name its task is to teach children what the ozone layer is and what its importance is. The game was developed and published by the United Nations Environment Programme. Plot The game is set in 2084, on Earth. Human civilisation has been decimated by a dangerous virus called GROW, which could not develop on our planet if the ozone layer still existed. We play as teenagers Knox, Sagan and Terran, who go back in time to stop humanity from destroying the climate. MechanicsReset Earth is a classic side-scrolling 2D platformer. The gameplay is about moving through the locations, jumping, avoiding dangers and solving various puzzles. The main goal of the game is to pass all the levels and get to know the plot. It is worth noting that we control three different characters, and each of them has specific strengths and weaknesses. Terran has an excellent memory, can cross chasms by moving on stretched ropes and can slow down time. Sagan has a jet pack and the ability to blow up manholes, while Knox hacks equipment and uses his strength to push heavy objects and smash down damaged walls. Game modes In Reset Earth we can only play solo. The core of the game is the single player mode. Technical aspectsAlthough Reset Earth uses only two dimensions, the graphic design combines 2D and 3D elements. The graphics make quite a good impression, and its strongest points are the originally designed and varied maps including ruined buildings and ice floes.
