Maskmaker is an original adventure game, developed for virtual reality sets. The game was created by InnerspaceVR studio, known for A Fisherman's Tale. PlotMaskmaker takes us on a journey to a fantastic universe, to be precise to the kingdom of masks, ruled by the mysterious Prospero. The main character of the game is a boy, in whom the ruler saw a great talent and decided to invite him to his workshop to teach him how to create different masks. The protagonist quickly discovers that subsequent creations allow him to move to different biomes, where he can find the resources necessary to create more and more sophisticated masks. By the way, our protagonist acquires more information about the enigmatic Prospero, which gradually brings him closer to discovering the identity of his master and learning the truth about him. MechanicsIn Maskmaker we observe the action from a first person perspective (FPP). There are eight different biomes to visit, including picturesque villages and paradise beaches, as well as empty, deserted canyons and gloomy swamps. We move to them by putting on masks linked with them on our hero's face. Wandering through these locations, we talk to encountered characters who are a valuable source of information about the world and its ruler Prospero, we solve various environmental puzzles, which allows us to reach new places, and finally we collect resources, thanks to which we'll be able to create another mask. We create them with our own hands; we have to carve their forms with a chisel, mix paints ourselves and apply them to individual mask elements, as well as decorate them with various accessories. Technical aspectsMaskmaker features colourful, stylized graphics that may be liked, especially the varied, detailed locations' designs. The game requires both virtual reality goggles (we look around by moving our head) and dedicated motion controllers (with which we interact with the environment).
