The franchise owner, Warner Bros. Interactive, decided that the game will come out for home gaming systems via digital distribution channels. Story The story continues the themes of Batman: Arkham Origins. Therefore, the players have the opportunity to experience more of Batman’s adventures prior to him becoming the Dark Knight. The action is set in the title Blackgate prison, which is located on an island near the city of Gotham. Batman is called there to quell a riot started by the inmates. Gameplay Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate The Deluxe Edition is a so-called beat ‘em up game. The player observes the events from a characteristic side camera, although the characters can move in the third dimension to a limited extent as well. The gameplay is focused on three things: exploration, combat (regular enemies as well as special bosses), and interaction with encountered characters and environment elements.
