Rusty Lake: Root is a point ‘n’ click adventure game developed by Rusty Lake, the creators of the well-received Rusty Lake Hotel. The production was released for PC, AND and iOS, among other platforms. PlotIn Rusty Lake: Roots, we assume the role of James Vanderboom. After the death of his uncle, he inherited a house and a special seed. According to the letter left by the deceased relative, sowing it will enable the protagonist to start his own family. The action of the said production takes place in the 19th and 20th century, and the player controls three generations of the Vanderboom family. The on-screen events are surreal, and so are the characters of the story. The game is full of references to the previous titles of the studio, but their knowledge isn’t necessary to understand the plot. MechanicsThe gameplay in Rusty Lake: Roots for PC, AND and iOS is based on exploration of the environment and solving both logic and environmental puzzles. In total, the game features over 30 levels filled with puzzles, which makes the title the biggest one in history of Rusty Lake so far. Moreover, talking to non-player characters we encounter, who have distinct personalities, is an important element of the production.
