Legacy is an economic strategy game in which we manage a company that produces and sells the inventions of its owner. The project was developed by the 22cans studio (Godus, Curiosity: What's Inside the Cube? and The Trail: Frontier Challenge). Peter Molyneux, known for his Dungeon Keeper, Populous and Black & White series, was at the head of the team. Mechanics The game builds on ideas from The Entrepreneur, a text-based economic strategy from 1984, which was the first game developed by Peter Molyneux. In Legacy we start playing as an inventor who combines components in his workshop in order to create new objects. This aspect of the gameplay offers great creative freedom. Players can construct, among others, toys, buildings, tools or electrical equipment. Completely crazy combinations are also possible, such as a skateboard with a cannon that shoots live ammunition. If our inventions are noteworthy, they will quickly start to sell in large amounts. From that moment on, the gameplay is enriched with elements of classic company management. It becomes necessary to hire employees, order large quantities of raw materials, build factories and balance expenses and revenues. Legacy forces players to make tough decisions, as being a good employer does not make it easier for us to reach the top of the business world. In order to achieve great success, it is sometimes necessary to put aside our morality. Game modes The Legacy game offers only the option of single player fun. Technical aspects The production's graphics design is fully three-dimensional, and is pleasant to the eye. It was made in a cartoony style, and the characters' designs are slightly exaggerated, with their behaviour often being comical.
