Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee! is an RPG spin-off to the iconic Pokemon series. The production was developed by the Japanese GameFreak studio, the team that created all the main installments of the series, released on the previous Nintendo handheld consoles. In accordance with the tradition of the cycle, the project has been released in the form of two separate games, namely Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee! and Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! These are almost identical titles and differ only in the creatures available in them. Plot The action of the game is set in the areas well known to fans of the Kanto region. The player takes on the role of a pokemon trainer and their task is to capture the specimens of all the creatures that can be found in the region. Depending on the game version, our main partner is either Pikachu or Eevee. Mechanics Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee! is an RPG, in which we mainly explore the world and collect creatures. We catch wild pokemon by throwing pokeballs at them with the help of a controller. It is possible, for the first time in the history of the cycle, to play a limited cooperation game, in which the other person helps us hit the target using their own pad. In total, 151 first-generation specimens, including their Alolan varieties, are waiting to be caught, plus one brand new creature, previously unavailable in any of the games. Players can train creatures and send them to battle the proteges of other trainers, which take place in a turn-based system. There is no traditional multiplayer in the game. The long-standing option of exchanging specimens between users, which requires a meeting in the real world, also appears. Technical aspects Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee! can boast an attractive, cartoonish visual style. The authors used the power of the Nintendo Switch console and as a result, it is a much nicer production than the previous installments of the franchise, which were created with the much weaker Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS consoles in mind. An interesting element of Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee! is the possibility to use a separately purchased special gadget, Poke Ball Plus, to simulate the spheres used by trainers in the games. It has been equipped with motion sensors, analog knobs, and buttons so that it is able to fully replace the controller. The device also features RGB lights, sound effects, and vibrations to create the impression that there really is a captured monster inside of the sphere. The authors also implemented the integration of Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee! with the mobile game Pokemon GO, which allows you to move some creatures between both productions.
