One day, a giant crystal appears in the sky above the land of Jeuno, triggering a series of unusual and unexplained events. Victory gives access to valuable prizes, and its summary is a short film. This was the first time the game's developer, Square Enix offered the players a paid mini-expansion for the game. It is only available in digital distribution via PlayOnline. A characteristic feature of such scenarios, also commonly called mini-add-ons, is the use of existing game content. A Crystalline Prophecy doesn't add, like large expansions, new territories or monsters.
