Game description:
Dead Island Riptide for PC, PS3 and X360 is a continuation of the successful FPP action game (with some RPG elements) published in 2011. Players once again have to defend themselves against zombies using various weapons. The game was developed by Polish studio Techland, which is famous for Call of Juarez, Chrome, Mad Riders racing game and others. Story The story continues the story presented in the previous part (even all the characters return). The protagonists tired of fighting with zombies on the island of Banoi return home in a helicopter. The machine is forced to land on a military vessel, but the infection quickly spreads among the crew. The vessel crashes and the four characters land on the island of Palanai. Again they have to find a way to get out of the seemingly peaceful place. It will not be an easy task as once again they have to face the hordes of zombies of Palanai. Gameplay Sam B, Logan Carter, Xian Mei and Purna are the four protagonists you may remember from the first part. They are back in Dead Island Riptide for PC, PS3 and X360 but there is a new character, i.e. John Morgan, a former soldier proficient in martial arts who is useful in direct fight with the undead. His specialization allows him to effectively fight without any weapon which quite important when you have no weapon. As in the previous installment each character offers different skills. Their proper cooperation may be crucial to survive. Besides killing zombies, the game offers variety of major and minor quests. Some of them are about moving from one point to another, but the developers wanted to avoid monotony and prepared several types of quests. One of the new features is defending your base against waves of monsters. To be effective, you need to prepare the battlefield by blocking access to the site and placing turrets, scatter mines or gas bottles. If any element of the barricade is damaged, players can fix it. Technology and Game modes The first part was praised for the cooperation and it is no different this time. The entire campaign can be completed in a team of four while the cooperation element is very attractive feature of the game. Visual layer of Dead Island Riptide for PC, PS3 and X360 is slightly better compared to the previous game. Changing weather conditions have been introduced and pouring rain is not a strange thing. But when it gets sunny, you may enjoy beautiful views and vivid colors of the surroundings.
